The Painted Room is a Seattle based interior arranging and color consulting service and has been in operation for over 25 years. Unlike traditional interior designers, I am not in the business of selling you an expensive line of home furnishings, although I'm happy to go shopping with you if you need help in that area. My specialty is helping you make better use of what you already own. This approach is clearly economical, but more importantly, the end result is a room which reflects your personality and your tastes, not the latest trend. I also provide custom painting services, including color washes and textures, and theme painted rooms for adults and children.
My love for creating art and design started as a child and continued to grow in high school. I attended Cornish Art Institute and have been working as a Graphic Designer for local businesses for over 30 years. I also have a deep love of gardening.
I was born in Iowa but grew up and live in Seattle, Washington with my husband Tom, two of our most brilliant creations, Sophia and Bishop, and our dog Thea. When I'm not transforming someone else’s home, you can find me rearranging our garden with botanical color and texture. It's basically the same thing as doing interiors only you get to be outside!
